More Halloween make up

Like all the shading in this picture of the skeleton and that the extra lines round the eyebrows straight away make the character look angry

The makeup on the clown face I think looks really creepy. By blacking out the lips and making a bigger mouth definitely adds to the effect of making it look very scary !

Halloween make up

Had a wee go at some Halloween makeup today in class - now it's all about trial and error and today it was slight error ! :) I've noted not to used purple again made Emily look like a scary blackcurrant ! Ah well we all need to start somewhere ! :)

Witchessssss !

First bash at the witch makeup - Ros has got to be the most glamorous witch I know with these blonde curls !

Hair styling

Had to use the velvet rollers in a wet set the other day in class and create a style. Thank you to the lovely Hannah who sat while I was putting kirbys in her hair left right and centre ! x

Skeleton

Wanted to try this out on myself

Trying out Halloween makeup

So I decided that practice is the key in the makeup bizz so I asked some friends to be a blank canvas for some creepy dolls :) x

what i have seen in theatre

i have only ever seen one theatre show but if im honest it probably has to be one that everyone should see - the lion king. i was lucky enough to see it in london and it was amazing ! they way the costumes have been designed to make the the actors and actresses look like real animals is brilliant

wigs from movies and tv

i actually found this quite hard to research because i just couldnt think off the top of my head what films i had seen that had wigs. I did manage 3 although i know i will think of better ones once this is published !

1. mortisha adams - the adams family

2. Jack Sparrow - pirates of the carribean

3. frank gallagher - Shameless

movie makeup

okay so it was quite hard but these are 5 films that I thought had really good makeup. Some is SFX or just general makeup highlighted and shaded for extra effect and others are total theatrical but here are the 5.........

1. shaun of the dead - love this film and the effects used to make the zombies !

2. Alice in Wonderland - this film is filled with all sorts of makeup but really its Johnny Depp as the mad hatter and Helena Boham Carter as the queen that really stick in my mind

3. Edward Scissorhands - Another Johnny Depp classic, this guy really can take many different roles !

4. The Cell - not sure how many people have heard of this film and it actually stars Jennifer Lopez and Vince Vaughn, its a horror cult classic and is quite creepy but the make up used throughout the film is amazing

5. Batman - Heath Ledger as the joker in this film was excellent and his makeup really helped you believe how sinister his character was
